Might be fast, but without IS it's still hard to handle... wait,
child. Your day will come :-) My
money is on the 70-200 2.8 IS. Yes, it's a tad slower, but it was
worth every dollar spent. You
sound like me... only I'm waitin for the 1Ds Mark III and then I'll
have to fork over money for
all new lenses, since the rumor seems to be firming up around the
issue of a new lens mount...
meaning everything in the gear bag cannot be sold as it has to be
carried around with the original
1Ds that I planned on using as a backup.... (sigh). Anybody got a
spare $30K lying around
somewhere?? :-)
Remember the mantra from Wayne - "It doesn't have IS, it doesn't have
IS, it doesn't have...."
(well, you know the rest)
Jane
Whooa there a minute... I have not heard that the new 1Ds might need
all new lenses??? Surely Canon would not do something that STUPID. No
way in Hell would I spend the bucks on the camera PLUS a complete new
set of lenses. That is asinine. If I had that kind of money I would buy
a Hassellblad H3. It would be suicide for Canon to require new lenses
with the new camera. At least provide an adaptor to allow all previous
lenses to fit and work properly.
