The normal equalizer mode only uses the 2D information given by the placement 
of views and segments on the canvas.

THe equalizer-3D mode renders a 3D scene consisting of a single textured quad 
into the scene, which does not align with curved segments but is planar in 3D 
space.


Martin - I didn't understand what switching VR/2D projection does in your case, 
does it switch on/off distortion correction?
