Which cables were "twisted"? The cables running to the rudders are suppose
to cross each other as they run through the fuselage toward the tail. Most
A&P's not familiar with Ercoupes would easily think this is a mistake,
thinking they are "twisted".

Several readers have told me my previous post was too harsh. OK, I agree
and hereby apologize. In an effort to explain, I note that Rod Machado is
one of my favorite authors. He is an excellent teacher, but above all he
is a humorist. I'm sure his article about "picked on mechanics" is funny,
but I don't agree that mechanics are generally picked on, certainly not in
this forum. I have the greatest respect for mechanics, and wouldn't think
of belittling them. Many Coupers are mechanics. Many mehanics are also
pilots. I envy them their skills and work ethic. Moreover, I think this is
the same attitude held by the majority of non-mechanic pilots. .

Actally Don,
I am not particularly verbose. I rarely send messages
to the list. Are you sure you're not confusing me with
someone else or a person on another list? I am calm
and was not in the least upset when I sent the
message.
And speaking of verbose, why did you send me TWO
copies of the same message from?
If you want to spar futher, let's do it offlist as
there is no point in further ivolving everyone else.

MS Spook, you again seem to have beaten the subject
to death. Consider that brevity and clarity are of
the essence. Quit preaching. Additionally, no Couper
will "flame you" or " "jump on you", or "attack
you", but some may disagree with your verbose
approach to mundane matters. Calm yourself.

Guys - I saw the following motto embroidered on a pillow sitting in the
back seat of an antique car at the antique plane and car show in
Atchinson, KS this last Saturday.

Subject: [COUPERS-FLYIN] Looking for a lawyer in Wisconsin
I recently bought a coupe from a fellow in Kenosha WI. We agreed that
the coupe would be delivered with an annual and a full inspection so I
could fly it home to Seattle. On my second stop I discovered that the
generator had never been charging the battery. It took the mechanics in
Marshall Minn. Several weeks to fix the unit during which they also
discovered that the control cables were twisted.
Efforts to present the bill to the fellow who sold me the coupe and
failed to inspect it as agreed have collapsed. I am now looking for a
lawyer in WI to at least threaten legal action to try to get a dialog
going again – any coupers out there who either are lawyers or know a
lawyer?
