$500 for an annual is pretty good.  $500 for some schmuck to look at the
plane, tell you it's okay then change his mind when you mention the prop
isn't certified for the a/c is criminal.  The best prebuy is an annual,
but
remember there are too many schmucks out there.  Get an Ercoupe guy to do
it.
