Hi Don,

My emergency starter battery unit is a "Motor Trend" unit. Don't remember
from where I got it - on line somewhere..in the last 6 months. Still that
doesn't tell how old it was, sitting on a warehouse shelf somewhere.

It would get very hot on charging, so it took a long time to attain a full
charge....as I would disconnect and let cool.

I still don't know if its worth a damn ! :) except for powering a radio, or
light. etc..

Thanks for the info. I hope the newer units work better...BUT, I still don't
see how the small cell size could generate sufficient amperage to recharge
the battery in 20 minutes, to start a car...unless the battery voltage is much
higher than 12 volts (separate charging circuits for a series of cells), thus
being able to quick charge the battery.

I think this is possible, form an electrical standpoint, and a circuit of
diodes.

Regards,

Harry
