which violates an FAR that sez
that you need to have enough for 30 minutes (?) operation in the
event
of electrical system (e.g. charging system) failure.
I always thought that as long as you stay VFR out of airspace that
requiere
to talk to someone on the radio, one can fly without.
Does it mean that because we are having an electrical system, we are
required to assure operation of such, or is it rather a good to have -
my
problem if I use it or not?

It was brought to my attention that there are a lot of small aircraft
without electrical systems (mags only), so there's obviously something
fishy about the supposed FAR I was told about.
