With a 71/50 McCauley, you should see the engine redline. On a C-85 that is 2575 rpm. Something is not right with your engine . Are there any signs of lack of performance? What is the rpm on engine run-up , full throttle? A McCauley should turn static at least 2050 rpm on a C-85 .
