That is how it is on my G model -- though a prior owner used glue.
Trying to get that crap off the interior walls is a pain, and you may
want to some day to deal with dirt build-up and/or corrosion.

The Airtex panels have a plastic backing on them and that is all
you need for the forward panels, the ones from the window forward.
All you need is a couple screws to hold these in. You need to leave
the inner panel that covers the side window in place and put the
Airtex on top of it and hold it in place with the same screws that
are holding the forward panels. The seats will hold the rear of
this Airtex panel in place. If you have the large baggage
compartment leave the metal panels on place and put the airtex onto
these with screws or snaps.

sides of the baggage area and you attach the new panels to those
using glue? I just went to the airport and noticed the panels ,
especially the left side that has openings for the trim and gas
gauge, were reversed, meaning everything is reversed. So will deal
with that first with Airtex.

panels, but I had to remove them when putting in new window
channels. Mine were simply contact cemented to the metal panel in
spots. You can see that the seat bottom and back will hold the new
material tight against the side at that point. I put some contact
cement on the surface between the window and the panel as well as
on the upholstery top. I then folded it over the bead and it stuck
there.

Concern there is we will have 2 layers of panels even thought the
weight may not be a factor. As the plane has rudder pedals we are
already restricted in leg room.

good at it ? I got one estimate from an aircraft maintenance
facility in Hagerstown, Md and they wanted $ 2000 which is twice
what we paid for the panels.
