Bart,
I don't in any way question you about what to do after the bounce occurs,
whether it's from a physical bounce of the nose gear or ballooning from an
untimely yoke yank.
I'm just having trouble seeing the potential for a Coupe nose gear "bouncing
the
nose" back to strong positive angle of attack as a justification for a nose
gear
snubber cable with the attendant loss of much of the shock absorption of that
nose gear.
Ed
ED and the group....An importand design feature of the Ercoup helps prevent
bounces. When the nose gear is compressed, the wings are in a negative angle of
attack.....loosing all lift...helping to prevent bounces....If the airplane is
rigged corrrectlly...ie level window sills when static on level ground.
Ercoupe Manual even points out that one can land at excessive speeds without
balooning.. (120 mph).
