Yesterday I had occasion to listen to an interview I taped with Fred Weick in 1991 just after I had been asked to take over as editor of Coupe Capers.

In that interview, Fred described the on-the-ground angle of attack NOT as zero or negative angle of attack. Instead, he described it as similar to the angle of attack when the airplane is in cruising flight. Thus, he said, you would have to be going at a quite fast speed to balloon up without having yanked on the yoke while on the ground.
