PbA electrolyte is almost harmless, some people do get a mild rash though.  

I have gotten it on my skin numerous times, if I don't wash it off 
within 10-15 minutes it does start to itch some.  Concentrated Sulferic 
Acid is a different story, but the diluted stuff they put in batteries...

I got a tiny drop in my eye once, stung like heck.  But the tears 
diluted it before it could do any real damage.
