The military just contracted to have some more of them built. I think they have two so far and are building four more (near term). The only problem with them is that hybrid systems are so heavy (batteries?) that they have almost no payload left. From what I understand they are mostly thinking of using them as self-mobile generators.

What happened to the military and the hybird hum v? I thought I saw on an episode of motor week that they choose them over teh standard hum v because for one it beat the regular one on a test strip in a speed/aceleration test.

Trains at one time used turbines, but it was cost prohibited. They rather use 2 12 cyliner 3500 horse power diesel motors and a generator. Hey, does that make it a hybird? Some even use batteries to bump the motor around inthe yards? What about those big 3 story dump trucks they use out west and in mineing operations? Arent those hybirds?
