My question is why would you want a NEV ?? The yelling and screaming is all about range ! now you dont want long range? OK, build a full size EV and dont go so far, simple. My 68 Ford F250 has a 18 Gal gas tank, and I know I can only go 100 miles on it, the gas mileage is so bad , about 4, to 5 MPG at best, 428 SCJ, 4:56 rear end , My El Camino would get over 100 mile range, all electric, and NO gas stations . If I only wanted to go 14 miles a day, and I did every day till I sold it, I did @ 70 MPH .
I have seen how bad the Miles and zaps were built, very bad, totally unsafe in any crash except a Radio Flyer , and a small one at that. Now we have a bunch of three wheelers coming out, go to "top gear/robin" watch that, then decide if you want a three wheeler , I almost pissed my pants laffing at that one LOLOLOL The guy with the Studdy made a good point, the older cars were HOLLOW, not heavy, fat fenders made them look heavy. lots of steel to haul around but they had class. Not like the Potato looking cars that come out, in fact all the new cars look like a 88 Ford Taurus , all of them , the only difference is the BS gagets that they stuff in them...stuff you have to have LOLOL . I happen to like big cars, always have, always will, I cant buy a 76 El Dorado, convertible new any more, but theres a lot for sale, would I convert it to Electric?? hell no. But you can convert ANY older car easier then a new one by far .
