Lee,

The camera solution is easy, just install a dash cam.
I have been thinking of doing so for insurance reasons after watching some
of the youtube videos from Russian dash cams. After watching a few of them,
my wife and I started becoming more aware of how many close calls we see on
a regular basis, and realized how having your own video of a not so near
miss might help out with an investigation. Turning it on while charging
wouldn't add much load, and could be very helpful in dealing with malicious
people.
