Yes, that's the idea.
*Don't* use the first (BASIC) diagram; plugging in both 120vac and J1772
(240vac) creates a short! And there are no fuses shown! Use the second
one (INTERLOCKED).
As shown, it requires 3-pole relays. You can also use more common DPST
relays, with the interlock switches handles by separate small relays, or
microswitches on the doors over the two charging connectors.
Or, you can avoid the relays entirely, and use a hinged or sliding cover
so only one of the two charging connectors can be accessed at a time.
Lester does this on their 120/240vac battery chargers (and they are UL
listed).
