Thats cool! In the A-klass we CAN fit 24pcs of 60Ah AGMs, and we still have space left efter put in this: A large AC motor and a new box for the AC drive unit, contactors and so on. some PLCs, almost all this stuff goes BELOW the flor.. + we still have a new "frunk" where the gas engine used to be! (so we put the range extender in there) That gives you an idea of the huge space hidden there in that small car.. yes, we did try it with AGM too :-) +the diesel +generator, +the over 100 kgs AC drive, motor, a Diesel water-heater(yes, you will need that in Sweden, in the middle of Sweden it can be almost -30F, and -40F or below in the North, but in Finland it is probably even cloder, then enter Russia and you will experience some *really* cold winter weather! ;-). Also we had an exhaust system to fit inside the "floor", +the 60 Amp DCDC, the 12V batt, charging inductors, the fuse boxes/pack spliters, GFI, and so on.. we had to change things like brakes, axles and suspension to cope with a bit more weight in this first LEAD version, and yes the center of gravity was very *LOW* !! Hehe , Now it is 27kWh LFP. I think It could have been both a series AND lockup-clutched parallell hybrid in the same setup, but with legal(tax) problems for a diesel car here it was probably not smart to optimize with parallell. Hmm, when we try to get the higher efficiency the year-taxes must always be much more to kill all ideas of less energy usage? I think you have to pay a very expensive diesel road-tax for the heavy battery also. Even if you run it on you own veg fuel, or maybe never run it at all. (Hmm, that sounds like the normal global politics / logic ?) / John _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org For EV drag racing discussion, please use NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA)
