The material under the headrest is a dense molded foam material,  it's
possible to modify it or remove it and replace it with something else.   It
will be several hours of work to remove the seat and take it apart, but
doable.  (I've had Tesla seats apart for other reasons)

I don't find the headrest touches my head, but everyone is different.
