That's true we can't duplicate people, yet, but it's not like faster than light travel, there is nothing in the laws of physics that would prevent it. As far as we know no new scientific discoveries would be required to duplicate people, just vastly improved engineering; instead new scientific discoveries would be required to forbid it.
