Why? You believe (although

​So if you're right I don't see what good ​keeping it secret would do. And
besides,

in the public domain, it will be in Alcol's domaine. Could  Alcor be
corrupted and betray me? Yes it's possible, but if you what a chance at
immortality, any chance at all, then you're going to have to trust
somebody.

 other than perhaps wasting enough money to buy a nice car I don't see any
downside to at least trying.
