Usually, you do nothing of the sort. If you need to restore a PF db, you dismount the PF db on the target server, remove it, remove it from replicas on all other servers, remount it (it will be empty), and then re-add the necessary replicas.
This is all about your developer, as I see it. He/she should maintain a backup of the damn application!
