OK that is helpful
Now, let me ask this--
Suppose you do it this way....
Install a VERY SMALL system on the / partition only
Follow the procedure at
http://www.mandrakeforum.com/article.php?sid=754&lang=en
to set up your other partitions and transfer the installed software, then use
software manager to put in the rest of what you want.
Now you still have Reiser but the notail (read much more stable) mount
option.
Your reiserfs DOES adequately explain the freezes, in and of itself. If
others have freezups without them, I would love to learn of it, especially
with an eye to reproducing and solving.
