Ok I did 4 upgrades no wait 6 going from 9.0 to 9.1 on on of my
computer. (Testing it for Release) once for each release. PITA but ....
needed to be done. 9.0 to 9.1 I had not a single problem.. In fact 8.1
to 8.2 wasn't a problem.. BUT don't try 8.2 to 9.1.... too many file
name changes, Too much difference. It's a nightmare. But frankly 9.0
to 9.1 went smooth as silk every time. (I even tried the infamous urpmi
upgrade method with reasonable success.) With any Linux distro I know
of (including Debian) moving up more than one level is not a good idea.
So with this in mind. I guess the next 8.2 box I have to upgrade will
first go through 9.0. If I'm forced to upgrade.
