KBS probably did not pioneer the 4-link and secondary ahead of the motor
arrangement in F440. The brand name escapes me now but these cars were
already old garage displays in 1989 and used the motor that the Kawasaki
replaced. Jim Elder's dad had one up on a shelf in his garage in West Palm
Beach.

I am not a KBS historian....that being said.
The KBS MK 5 went into production approximately 1989 and it's
performance with it's 4 link rear suspension was a virtual revolution in
the handling of F440 cars. The MK 5 was followed by the MK 7 in
approximately 1992 which had revised rear suspension geometry. The MK 6
was a DSR car produced in 1993, of which I believe only one was
produced. The MK 8 had revised front and rear suspension geometries and
it was further updated to MK 8.5 status I believe it began production
about 1997. The body work from MK 5's & MK 7's is interchangeable. The
bodywork for the MK 8 & 8.5 gives a similar appearance to the MK 5/7,
however the MK 8 bodywork will not fit the earlier editions.
There are also earlier KBS editions, I have seen MK 3's and MK 4's and
while I have never seen them I suspect there were MK 1 & 2 also.

MK8 without any reference to the year it was manufactured. Are there MK
6's and MK 9's ?
Were the MK 7's and 8's manufactured over several years ?
