I used some snowmobile shocks (Fox adjustables with 150 lb springs front and 300 lb rears) on the DSR I was building last year. they Worked very well. If there was a way we could get rid of the torsion bars in front, I would go right past the Coil overs to Fox Air Pros. they are an adjustable air shcok that come on Polaris's 900 snowmobile. They work very well.
I will be trying a set on the rear of my Solo Vee after Nationals in preparation for next year. They save anout 2-3 pounds a corner by not having springs.
