My car started out as a 1992 Red Devil but it's an ongoing development 
project ;-) these days. I can tell you I found big cracks near the front 
rocker arms, on the backward sloping upright tubes. Check them and brace 
and weld accordingly. Another common place for cracks is under the 
engine area. Those tubes mainly get stressed from engine vibrations and 
also suspension loadings. Other than those areas I found the frame to be 
pretty sturdy. Your results may vary  ;-)

And find a good welder that understands race cars and does thoughtful 
work. It's well worth it. Maybe look for a local racer that is 
sucessfull and maybe even fabs his own stuff.
