I don't want to burst anyones bubble. "With a sufficient amount of horsepower you could make a brick fly." I M H O After reading all the follow up messages, it looks like it is going off track. The comparison of race cars and aircraft lose the similarity at being an air foil of sorts. F500 is not fast enough to have an excessive amount of aerodynamic requirements, other than not having the air brake effect. A simple clean efficient design should work well. This new design will certainly fit that description. The lack of wings to create external forces levels the playing field a bit. The rules will bite you if you try to get too exotic.

Chris,
Even when I explain it all like an old fashioned narrated "Dukes of Hazard"
TV episode,
You still apparently misunderstand what I am telling you.

Or, more likely, you are just yanking my chain, now. :->

I'll bite, however-one mo' time.

Below is a summary of my last email
-and no Daisy Duke in cut-off jeans to distract you either...

1) If a body was NOT developed in a wind tunnel for racing, it doesn't
necessarily make it worthless. Even w/out CDF and no wind tunnel, racers
have other ways to get the job done.

2) CFD is never a 100% substitute for other design tools. Back and forth
validation between model elements and real world testing of some sort is
still always required for optimal results.

3) The level of sophistication (cost) of the particular CFD software tool
one uses makes a difference in how closely its results resemble reality.
