This is not a discussion it is an argument.

Subject: Re: [F500] new body for KBS and Q-cars

OK, now I'll bite, I think you changed your view and now we arguing the
same point?
You originally said the CFD was in it's infincy until someone pointed out
they had used it 16 years ago...
I think we can all agree that niether software, wind tunnel or track
testing is 100% flawless.
I first argued that you "CAN" build a good if not great aero design
"WITHOUT" the use of a wind tunnel. Aerodynamics is not a new science,
there's plenty of fomulas to help design and as we discussed the "new" rage
of software. This has all been built out of what? The fact that there's a
handfull of windtunnels in the world. Of course a designer could build a
good body without a wind tunnel and they do every day. Just because NASCAR
needs to have their cars go through it, doesn't mean every other car does.
They're trying to push the envelope of the rules...for a brick....

  Chris,
Even when I explain it all like an old fashioned narrated "Dukes of Hazard"
TV episode,
You still apparently misunderstand what I am telling you.

Or, more likely, you are just yanking my chain, now. :->

I'll bite, however-one mo' time.

Below is a summary of my last email
-and no Daisy Duke in cut-off jeans to distract you either...

1) If a body was NOT developed in a wind tunnel for racing, it doesn't
necessarily make it worthless. Even w/out CDF and no wind tunnel, racers
have other ways to get the job done.

2) CFD is never a 100% substitute for other design tools. Back and forth
validation between model elements and real world testing of some sort is
still always required for optimal results.

3) The level of sophistication (cost) of the particular CFD software tool
one uses makes a difference in how closely its results resemble reality.
