Jim,

$2000 for ECU, wiriing harness, fuel pump and complete zero miles motor for a bike that retails for $8900K sounds like it is a close out special or wholesale/dealer price.

The piecemeal cost of any vehicle typically exceeds the complete vehicle which is why my friend's nearly new 2005 Suzuki bike was going to be totalled by the insurance company for just needing some body parts and an exhaust system.

Maybe we are comparing wholesale or dealer cost 4-stroke motors to list price 2-strokes?

Could a new Suzuki snowmobile 2-stroke be 1/2 the cost of the Suzuki 4-stroke under the same pricing structure?

Do you know what the marketing scheme is with Japanese 4-strokes with respect to iniital cost and then markup on parts and cost of rebuilds?

I need a site or a dealer to call for a new motor and rebuild parts costs on a Suzuki GSXR-600.

Chuck,
Don't forget, about 6 months after you get the "stock" engine
done a manufacture will have a better one out and you can
do it all over again.
This will be a bottomless money pit!
