**************

I did not make the claim that TM worked 100% in eliminating tobacco
use over the short term -- in fact, I linked to a site that, as you
note, indicates that TM usually, but not always results in
elimination of tobacco addiction within the time frame of the study.

Over the long run, either people will give up TM or they will stop
smoking (or maybe they will die, putting an end to the experiment).
This cessation of bad habits is clearly indicated in the scientific
research on tobacco and alcohol use by TMers -- it's a direction of
less reliance on harmful substances because TM works to give people a
feeling of well-being that makes them less likely to feel motivated
to use harmful substances.

Thereby implying that 100% of TMers need no more than TM to quit smoking. Therefore, as it stands, you have committed TWO falsehoods: Not only what you claim you claimed is false, but also your original is false. Care to dig your hole a little deeper? Maybe the TMO should have asked all to abstain from  dishonesty for 3 weeks prior to being initiated (or at least those who are addicted to it).
