Er, no, it's mostly published in independent journals,
many of them peer-reviewed.

TM's research does need to be *replicated* by
independent researchers, but TM can't force them
to do so.  By the same token, the scientific
community can't declare TM's research invalid unless
independent replication has been attempted and
failed.

True, but the question here was the basis on which
TM claims it fosters rapid growth to higher states
of consciousness.  You would hardly expect TM to
support that claim in terms of some *other* group's
criteria that TM did not consider valid.
