Jyotish has a beautiful, commonsensical, organic quality to it. 

Constellations are the houses in the oldest system--in other words 

there isn't the superimposition of a 12 x 30 degree grid onto the 

sky--it's just as you would see it, and houses are as you would count 

from constellation to constellation. Very nice.

It's not practiced that way.  You still have 30 degree houses.



Yes, you would but these would represent entire constellations for each house in the Rashi Chakra. A house equals a sign. In the case of a yogi who can calculate a chart in consciousness, as a rishi would, this is how it is perceived. And that makes sense, it's how an observer on earth would see it in the sky.
