And couldn't this possibly be because most of the
people around you, for most of your life, have done
their best to convince you that a hammer is the
"right" tool for pounding a nail? I've met nutcase
martial artists who can pound a nail into a two-inch
board with their hands. It's not the most practical
of skills :-), but for them it takes no less time 
than it would take you to do the same thing with
your "society-approved" hammer.
