Could be worse. They could be rigged up to "dance" while hidden speakers

Actually, I kind of keep expecting there to be a role-reversal in canon. If
the clan elders force Neji to marry Hanabi, then Neji becomes the de facto
successor to the clan; that would automatically make Hinata a branch family
member, and she'd be branded with the seal while Neji's would be removed.
In strictest, coldest political terms, it IS the most logical thing for the
Hyuuga clan to do. It defies the very tradition that MADE Neji a branch
family member in the first place, but it would be an almost guaranteed way
to produce an exceptionally powerful heir--Hanabi is stronger and more
skilled than Hinata, and Neji is the single most powerful Hyuuga to come
along in what, three generations? If I were a clan elder, I'd be all over
that, even if I had a soft spot for Hinata.
(Truthfully, it's probably the kindest thing the clan could do to
Hinata-chan at this point.)
