Clover makes a little round metal disk, about 1" across, with little
teeny tiny blades set down within the disk--I cannot see how one could
cut oneself, even accidentally, with it. It may be considered okay by
security personnel; I simply don't know. Mine hangs on a chain around
my neck when I am knitting. Many quilt stores have them.

I am traveling by plane in two weeks; I sympathize with people who use
their knitting to relax, because I'm a white-knuckle flyer under the
best of circumstances, and have relied on my knitting in the past to
help. I doubt that I will take my knitting with me this time. I do,
however, have a VERY interesting new book, called "Treasures From a
Ragpile" written by a woman in Norway who bought a woolen recycling mill
and decided to research the woolen garments in the ragpile instead of
shredding them for quilt batting. That's as far as I have read; I am
saving the rest of it for my flight.
