We are deciding now where to go today as there are free buses on Stagecoach - and if it had been really fine we would've gone all the way to Orewa but we have shortened our trip to Long Bay - back to Takapuna still on the North Shore - that will mean I will get to paddle twice in the Pacific Ocean waters well actually at that point it called the Waitemata Harbour. Come back across to Downtown and do over the boat harbour place where they held the last Americas Cup now all very trendy around there - fishing boats probably back.
Come home at some point then off to our fav venue for something festive i.e. KFC our local branch is definitely open.
Tomorrow is Boxing Day and then NZ has to more holidays so it's basically 4 Sundays in a row if you want to catch a bus :-) and we repeat the whole shebang next week. We like to do holidays in style, however the only big day that everything could be shut is the 25th.
OK I haven't done any late christmas craft stuff as I try to create enuff presents throughout the year. My list of recipients is under 6 so it's easy peasy.
I do something a little more creative this year for 3 children of my new friend the only real cost was the shiny purple carrier bag and I filled it with off cuts of fabric - fibres - threads - buttons - paua shell bits etc and some light weight card that have a small amount of printing on one side hoping that his kids will be able to make collages or something. I gave Dad strict instructions not to put it upside down otherwise he would have to put everything back in!!!

spending the rest of Dec/Jan immersed in fibres - dyeing 3 fleeces numerous other skeins, getting ready to demo spinning at Lost Arts day, weaving some more pseudo seersucker, pictures of this lot at Photo Page 6 @ http://flourishingfibres.iwarp.com sorting out the rest of Merino/Mohair stuff for a forthcoming felting workshop within Quilt Symposium 2005
