Loom design is just as important as any "tips and tricks" that weavers have
developed to work around awkward features on looms.
I'd say that there are a few things that any weaver purchasing a loom should
look out for:
1. removable breast (and if possible knee and/or back) beams
2. removable beater assembly
3. good loom depth
4. heddle eyes at a position comfortable for warping - both in height and
distance from where the weaver sits to thread them
If a loom looks nice, it could easily become a pain if any of the above are
not well thought through.
You definitely don't want to miss being able to sit or stand in a comfy
position with your head able to move about to focus on the threading
process.
