I undid my weaving and unwound the warp, this time, all four colors are in place and everything is already nicely combed out, of course. I was careful to keep everything in good order. I still used paper because that is what I have at hand, though it is thick brown packaging paper. Every 2 turns or so, I grabbed the warp in sections and applied tension as instructed by Lynn (thanks!). I made sure the paper covered the entire width of the warp as well as the entire length that was beamed on.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I am so so glad I did this. Before, the right side warp ends at the front beam were a few inches longer than the left. After I rebeamed it, all warp ends were fairly similar in length at the front beam. I probably would have had the crescent-shape in my towels like Holly mentioned. Now, I need to get a stick shuttle that is longer than 4 inches so I can actually pass it from one hand to the other in the shed. Thank you thank you thank you all for your wonderful suggestions. Experience is definitely what counts! Jennifer
