Can you give an example?  I can't recall having trouble with stems when
using voices. Maybe I just didn't notice. If a stem were wrong, I think I'd
just flip it and go on without thinking much about it, but it seems to me
that they generally come out right. The one thing I've found about voices
is if the notes are a second apart, you have to be sure to enter the one
you want on the left first.
