I use the same settings you do, and I find that clicking on the "Play" icon
sometimes doesn't catch all the earlier MIDI settings, esp. in a complex
score.  Oddly, I often have better luck using the "hold space bar/click
measure" method of playback, though of course it doesn't scroll.
