This may not be a great help but here is one idea. Using a test block, when I need to enter "Trumpet in Bb", for example, I use the CS Times font. To enter the flat, I dial in ALT 0223. I select the B and the flat, then set tracking at 150. Everything stays in line and spaced pretty well in my experience. I have used a combination of Century Schoolbook "Trumpet in" and Bach "@" for the flat. I prefer the first combination. I started creating such phrases and saving them in text expression libraries. For me they became in a manner pre-assembled units and could be changed as desired easily. This may not be the most efficient or flexible system, but it gets the job done for me.

Hello, How do I sensibly incorporate an occasional # or b or natural, or mP or mF for that matter, in a paragraph of text (in a text block)?
The required symbols are there in whatever music font (Maestro, say) but-- for reasons I don't understand-- getting a # the correct size to match 12 or 14 point text means using 24 point Maestro, which of course messes up the line spacing somethin' awful.
There's got to be an easy way to do this... what is it??
Many thanks in advance for help! Ch.S.
