prompting Jari to respond
Huh? That's not a bug you've been mentioning!
To which Darcy James Argue replied, in part:
I'm afraid you must be confused. It is a bug I've been mentioning repeatedly on this list and with my conversations with Macsupport. It is my number-one concern with Fin2004.
and I confess that I've not been paying much attention, as I tend not to pay as much attention to items related to MAC's, however, I have experienced the text-block overwrite phenomenon, In think in WinFin 2k. I've not yet tried to determine exactly how it happens, but my present hypothesis is that if one has two files open in separate windows within Finale, with a text block selected in each window, any change made in the text block in the active document is replicated into any selected textblock in any open document, even if it is inactive. There are a number of conditions here with significant levels of uncertainty; I'm not positive that it's 2k; I've not tried to duplicate the problem, I've not tried to see if it's been fixed in subsequent versions to the one I found it in, but I have experienced unexpected text-block overwrites.
