I agree with most of this review, and I very much appreciate Jari having taken the time to write and post it. However I have two quibbles.

The first is a blatant inaccuracy. The review says, "Plug-ins can also only be run when the score is viewed." This is simply untrue. What is true is that (perversely) all the plugin menu items become grayed out when you view a part. However, if the plugin has either a modeless window or some UI besides Finale's plugin menu, you can run it with no problem, and it works exactly as you would wish it to. For example, the TGTools menu is still completely active as well as its Mac hotkeys. I've run JW Space Systems on parts, and it did exactly what I wanted.

My other quibble is that the linked parts feature does not present an either/or, use/don't use choice. Unfortunately, it is quite likely that users with any exacting notation requirements will experience ulcer-inducing frustration if they attempt to combine the score with the parts in a single file. However, combining all the parts into one single file (with the score in a different file) seems imminently practical, and also a great improvement over what we have now.
