Hesitating to reply to my own questions, I did check out the Garritan
web-site and there is absolutely no mention of a Garritan GM product
that I could find.
There's also no search function I could find either, so I couldn't even
try to search for it.
The Finale site claims it has a SRP (suggested retail price) of $199 but
we can buy it for $139. But if that's the case, why doesn't
www.garritan.com have even a hint of the product?
A web-search for Garritan General Midi Collection yields precious few
hits (none from the garritan web-site!) but there is a link to a
wikipedia article on it in which there is a link to the original Gary
Garritan announcement of it, from June of 2006. He doesn't say much
about it and ends with this remark: "We will provide more details about
the General MIDI collection soon." If anybody can point me to those
"more details" I'd be very happy.
