Just for kicks, can you try this:
1. File | New | Document with Setup Wizard
2. Add Piccolo, Flute, *uncheck* Generate LInked Parts, finish with
defaults.
3. Document | Manage Parts | Part Creation Preferences, check
Create MM Rests
4. Generate Parts, OK.
5. Switch to Piccolo part, in Page View. I see one big MM rest.
Thanks,
Aaron.
Aaron,
When I looked at the part view (I did this before entering notes in
the score, just to see how they'd look), I saw the same thing - a big
MM rest, and when looking at the parts view after entering all the
information in the score, that original MM rest was still there
covering later entries, and no later MM rests showed up in the
parts. Perhaps this was what created my difficulty - opening a part
view before entering the notes in the score. I'm trying to remember
the steps so that I can identify the problem behavior, MM's and/or
mine. This suggestion reminded me of part of the sequence of events,
but I have yet to uncover the origin of the problem.
Now I just extracted - in the old way, the troublesome drum part, and
the extracted part retains the profusion of problems that show up in
the linked part. This one is a real mess - staff styles missing all
over the place, and who knows what else that is strange. I'm trying
to figure it out now.
