Yeah...I'm headed back to 2008, especially since I'm doing marching band stuff
now...see below. The new expression thing is not proving valuable enough to
offset all the other issues. I also like to run plugins on parts, so I guess
it's extract time

ANOTHER 2009 BUG:
If anyone does marching band or similar stuff, BEWARE: Inserting a drum roll
articulation (metatool 8) will crash 2009 if you have Human Playback set to
Marching Band.

On this particular project, I also got bitten by a linked parts issue--can't
change measure numbering. Client wanted numbers under bottom staff in score but
not in parts. Have I missed something here--is there a workaround for measure
numbering? I'm going to extract parts, I guess.

Is it just me, or is linked parts an (at best) incomplete feature, even though
2009 is the third version of Finale to have them? Who is actually USING linked
parts seriously? How do you get around the limitations?? MUST one extract parts
to use plugins? I think the answer is yes, bit I'd like confirmation.

Jim

Yeah, I'm afraid I've moved back to 2008 for the moment, until I can
get my head around these issues.
