I think Robert's intended point was that you get the score right, and then, instead of starting work on the parts or extracting parts, you create a new file from the completed score, and go to town on the linked parts, and don't worry at all about what your edits to the parts do to the score. This, of course, defeats the main purpose of linked parts, but it's still vastly better than the old method of extracting. At least with a parts file, you can make global changes to all the parts. -- David W.
