Mine work with linked parts. It is AT BEST an incomplete feature, but that "best" is pretty darn good. I highly recommend using a single document for parts rather than extracting each part into its own document. You won't have to fight the measure numbers in linked parts if you don't care about the score view. There are just dozens of ways that having a single parts document is superior to individual docs, while the only negative I can think of is that you have to switch to score view to apply MM-supplied plugins.
