take a piece of 1/2 all thread about 3 ft long,  drill a hole in a 4x4  1 on 
top the other on the bottom  compress it and remove the balljoint, then slowly 
loosen the nuts on the all thread.  Ensure it is good and tight and there is 
grease on the threads,  It wont compress much but it wont let it fly apart 
either. 

 Most spring compressors will not go into the shock hole to connect it,  I have 
on from snap on that works. 

 
Cant emphasize enough safety here....... Get someone with experience to come 
help, this is not an easy task..... 

Just Smile...   It makes people wonder what you have been up too...
