Is this a "new used" or one of the new repo panels?
My car had a non-AC dash panel that was cut out for the center vent. They seem to be identical except for the vent hole.

After having done similar modifications to other cars, I would suggest:
1. Have it out of the car
2. Have someone to help
3. Mark your opening carefully
4. drill a small hole to start and use a hacksaw blade or coping saw blade to cut the opening SMALLER than you actually need. (Don't use a Saber Saw, you'll break the dash.)
5. Support the back side well so you don't crack or break it.
6. Use a small block of wood and a small clamp around the back edges of your opening and then finish it to size with a good fine tooth file. The block of wood will both support the edge and help to give you a nice straight edge.

I have a new dash (1969) and I need to cut the opening in it for the
center AC vent. Anyone done this? Any words of wisdom on how to do
it without screwing up the dash?
