The repo looks good just sitting here :-)  It seems to match the original in 
every detail except the entire back side is chromed.  I don't like the raw edge 
either.  I'd like to cut it with a hot knife but doing that to the exact 
dimensions is probably impossible.

How's the quality on the repos?
Sounds like the metal should work fine like that.  You just need something that 
will work as a straight-edge.
I just don't like the raw edge that's left after cutting the hole.
